Our Christian vision was created by our children with a little help from the staff, the parents of Meltham and the Diocese of Leeds.

These carefully chosen words highlight our ambition to help the children of Meltham CE Primary School grow as a whole person: academically, morally, socially and spiritually. It embraces our well established curriculum drivers of STANDOUT, BREAKOUT and SHOUTOUT, and reminds us that learning is a much longer journey than the six years spent here in Meltham; that learning is far wider than the lessons taught in the classroom; and that there are so many ways to live, learn, laugh and experience success, happiness, awe and wonder in our daily school lives.

Our vision takes its inspiration from our school aims and its theological roots from the story of King David. King David was perhaps the most famous king of the Old Testament. From his humble beginnings as a shepherd who enjoyed music and creativity, to the most powerful man in the Kingdom of Israel, he grew from a tiny sparkle to a shining star. His story teaches us how hard work, dedication and the strength to stand out can help us all grow in confidence and make a difference, however small, in the world in which we all live.
