ECO SCHOOL
Meltham CE Primary has been an Eco School since 2022 and we are incredibly proud of our achievements. Our Eco Council work hard each year to identify environmental and ecological improvements needed in our school or our community and work to raise awareness of issues on local , national and international scales.
Each year we produce an action plan which members ofour Eco Council share withtheir classes and teachers and publish regular Eco Newsletters to update the community on our progress against our targets. CHildren in school have taken part in initiatives to reduce traffic, cut both physical and anergy wastage and refularly update the school through whole school Eco Assembly updates.
Meltham CE promotes Fairtrade and regularly attends the local Fairtrade conference as well as organising waste reduction events such as clothes swaps.

Why is it important to be an Eco School?
Our environment can be fragile. Our children demand a world at school, in Meltham and beyond in which they can grow up safely and securely. Our earth needs to be protected and enriched for each generation to come and at Metlham CE Primary school, our children understand why this is so important. What we do now can effect our future. Act now! It's not too late, so don't procrastinate...
